Budget Protection Relay Tester

Good day,

Can anyone recommend a good reliable budget brand for Protection relay testers? There is no need to have advanced features, just the equivalent of QuickCMC from Omicron and enough rated burden to test digital and most typical EM relays.

We purchased a Kingsine KFA310 for the same reason. It has been about 6 months and so far we haven’t had any issues with it. It does everything that we need, but we aren’t doing heavy duty relay testing every day. The 310 has 3 currents and 4 voltages, and we paid to have the currents upgraded to 30A output capacity (50A single output). I think all in it was around $11K for the product, then you have to deal with whatever duties/tariffs it gets hit with coming into the US from China (I think I paid $2,800 in duties, in January of this year). They came out with a newer model that has 6 current channels since we purchased ours (KFA320). We haven’t had to use their support much, but support has been fine so far. We had it calibrated and everything checked out okay. Our main concern was how rugged it would be, since it is very small. Its small enough to throw in a backpack. I’d check out their website to see if its something you’d be interested in. I’ve got a sales contact from their company if needed.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I have been looking at Kingsine for some time, but I was always very tentative given the reputation of some of the Chinese brands. Ponovo is another Chinese brand on my radar, but I have received some positive recommendations for Kingsine. A senior field Engineer with a lot of Omicron equipment actually recommended the Kingsine K85P to me a while back. He also has a CMC 256 and a CMC 156 and is very happy with the Kingsine unit. It would be great if you can send me the sales contact.
Thanks again!
