NFPA 70E 2024 is set to start rolling out across the industry, this is the thirteenth edition since the standard was first published in 1979. The latest release continues to play an important role by providing requirements for electrical safety in the workplace.
There is a good article by Jim Phillips out now that provides an overview of the more significant changes but does not include everything. The main points touch on the following:
Article 90
Article 100 Definitions
Article 110 General Requirements for Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices
Article 120 Establishing an Electrically Safe Work Condition
Article 130 Work Involving Electrical Hazards
There are also several global changes made that can be seen throughout entire standard. If you have ideas for improving NFPA 70E, you can get involved and submit your ideas during the next revision cycle.
