Wrong Temp Calulation

Below is what I got for calculating Fahrenheit and i think its wrong. I am sure it is F=(C*1.8)+32

During a thermographic inspection, you measure a 50°C phase to phase temperature rise on the line side of a fused disconnect. Your customer requests a report in Fahrenheit. Convert the temperature rise for him.
Your Answer: 122°F
Correct Answer: 90°F
Help: For every 1C rise there is a 1.8F rise.

The key here is that it is a temperature difference. Not a direct temperature.

So a 50C temperature rise could mean you measured 30C and 80C. If you convert these to fahrenheit you would get 86 and 176 or a temperature rise of 90 degrees.

Your +32s cancel out when you are subtracting the difference between two temperatures.

Hope that clears it up.
